Tips on picking user names and passwords

User name: In order to keep data anonymous, we recommend that you don’t use your name or email address or any other identifiable data as a user name.
Password: All passwords are encrypted in the database and are invisible to everyone so any password is possible. Again we suggest you don’t use obvious identifiable passwords such as names, address data, etc
Write down your user name and password in a safe place where you can find them again. If you change your password, make sure to write down and record the new password.

Tips on farm names

Cashminder allows each user to have more than one farm. So, after you login, we ask you to create a farm and give it a farm name. As with user names, we recommend that you don’t use your name or email address or any other identifiable data as a farm name
All farm names need to be unique within the database. So, for example, only one farm can have a farm name called “homefarm”.
Suggestion: If your user name is “jb101” then a good farm name is “jb101farm”. If you want to start a second farm, the second farm name could be “jb101farm2”

What will I do if I forget my user name or password or farm name

If you forget how to login, the procedure will be as follows…

1. Cashminder support staff will ask you to create a new Cashminder user name and password. For this example, let’s call this new user name “jb101new”
2. Print one page of a bank statement that has previously been loaded in to Cashminder. Write this new user name, (“jb101new”) on to this bank statement. Sign this document and then post (or scan & email) to the Cashminder support team.
3. Also post (or scan & email) a bill that displays your farm name and address.
4. Cashminder support staff will scan the database for a unique farm name that matches dates and money values displayed on your page of bank records. For this example, let’s say the farm name found is “jb101farm”
5. Cashminder support staff will ask you to create a new Cashminder user name and password. For this example, let’s call this new user name “jb101new”
6. Cashminder support staff will send an invite from farm “jb101farm” to user “jb101new”
7. When you login next to “jb101new” you can accept the invite from “jb101farm” and you are back in business again
8. If you write down your user name and password, this can all be avoided.
